Corcovado National Park
The Corcovado National Park is one of the most beautiful places on earth. Isolated from development, it has incredible diversity of birds and mammals. In fact, it's one of the best places in Costa Rica to see tapirs, anteaters, and other endangered animals.
Wilson Botanical Garden (OTS Las Cruces)
Located near San Vito at about 1100 meters (3800 feet) and near the border of Panama, Wilson provides excellent birding unique to Costa Rica.
Over 450 species of birds have been reported here, making it one of the most important hotspots in Costa Rica.
Neily Rice Fields
Near the town of Cuidad Neily, the flooded fields provide fantastic birding opportunities. It's a great location to view Storks, Spoonbills, herons, many different kinds of raptors, and thousands of ducks.
The mouth of the Rio Rincón is a great birding spot. The bridge provides a nice vantage and the adjacent road provides excellent access to forest birding. 350 species have been reported just in this small area!
